chasineyes
Can front tires be "fixed" or is it better and safer to just buy a new set??Thanks
Ryan_V
depends on how bad it is. I had a nail in one of my tires 2 or 3 years ago. I plugged it, and it has been fine ever since. atv tires are very low pressure, so a plug will hold. Now after that however, I carry a 12v air compressor and another set of plugs, just in case!! Dave S
As long as it's not in the sidewall, you should be ok to fix it. Best thing you can do is find a shop that has uni-seals and have one of those installed.
Fredd
PPPLLLLLUUUUUGGGG it and all will be well (as long as the hole isn't too big).
MNexpoler
Depends on the Hole. I've put plugs in all over on my ATVs, from small to medium sized holes, plugs work. I've had to put in 5 plugs in one hole because a railroad spike went through my tire and it held for about a year like that. I've also tried patching them from the inside that doesnt work as well. Due to that atv are constantly flexing the sidewall and there isn't much rubber on the inside of the atv tire to make a patch stick too. MNfan
Does anybody ever use the slime stuff in a can does it work?
Dave S
Stay away from the slime. If there's ever a case of needing to pull the tire off the rim, it's a PITA to work with.
fasternu
NEVER use Slime. What a mess. I would just put a tube in it long before I used that stuff. I have plugged mine with no problems, though.
