Recomend some books/ websites for carp

I just started targeting carp last summer. I used my walleye rod set up with 14lb fireline and canned corn for bait. I had a blast now I want to learn more does anyone recommend books or HSOforum that will help me hone my techniques? I am probably going to get set up with a better reel with a bait runner feature as i almost lost my rod several times last summer when a carp would dine and dash. Any tips appreciated what baits hooks etc.

Carp on the Fly is a great book - even though it is targeted at fly fishing there is fantastic discussion of their habits

a quick google search will provide you with plenty of good websites

da_chise recommended a book in a previous thread entitled "Fishing for Buffalo" that I have since purchased and begun reading. Pretty good book for a guy curious in understanding Minnesota roughfish and native species.

Fishing for Buffalo is an excellent start, what a great book. I was lucky enough to interview co-author Tom Dickson when the book was republished last Summer.

I also picked up a copy when I saw da_chise post a while back, it's a very good read with lots of info on rough fishes (burbot, suckers, drum, carp, sturgeon, catfish, whitefish and gar)

I will check those books out and that group. This year I will try some on the fly as well. I can sight fish on some streams and think the fly will work well. On the Mississippi will probably be more bait oriented.
