hooky for opener?

Ok, how many of you are planning to be out on opener? Better yet, How many of you have to work 1.5 shifts O.T. on opener? Anyone have any ideas how to put one over on the boss? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Working on the opener? They should pay you
triple time and a half!! What to do???

I am lucky,for I have an amazing grandmother.
I grew up fishing at her cabin up on the
Whitefish chain.She knows my love of fishing,
and my willingness to get out on the water
at all costs.Sadly, she passed on years ago.
In fact she has "died" many times since,if
you catch my drift!! Some might think this
kind of behavoir is kinda strange,but I know
"gram" would understand entirely.In fact I
know she would just smile and shake her head.
Some kids never grow out of things and fishing for me is one of these things.

OK here's my list. Not necessarily in the order of effectiveness.

1. Dead grandma/grampa
2. Daycare provider had a death in family.
3. Car problems.
4. Strep throat
5. 24 hour flu
6. sick children
7. household emergency (failed sump pump, etc.)

What are some other favorites???

I would quit. More time to fish all year!!!

I would go ahead and work on opener.....any attempt at pulling one over on the boss will be immediately identified as a ruse.

Instead, save your "story" for the middle of the week after opener when there will be fewer people on the water anyway.

Take your boss with you. If that isnt an option then I use blackmail. You know hidden camera nice blonde and a compramizeing (sp) position.
If your really good you can get an extra kicker day for memorial weekend.
