Chad Luebker
Hello - I know we have had a post like this somewhat before but here it goes again. I just sold my 6.5 x 12 foot King Crow fish house on wheels. Main reason because we are having a kid in June but I am hoping to puchase a new one in a year or 2. However, I want it make the purchase to exactly what I want. My first thing I need is a light wheelhouse that can be pulled with a polaris 500. The size I will be getting is 6.5 x 12 for sure maybe 6.5 x 14 depending on weight. I was able to pull the King Crow but want to expand my search a little when looking for the next house. What do you guys have and do you know the weight of your house? I have heard Ice Castles are heavy and almost impossible to pull with a wheeler? Anyone have that experience? Other options are Performance engineering out of Glencoe or Dandy out of Clearwater. Has anyone pulled these houses with a wheeler or know much about there weight. Some advice about a good quality fish house along with being light weight would be great. Thanks everyone.Chad

Chad Luebker
Tourneychamp - Thanks for your response. Very interesting. Like I said about the ice castle it's what I heard and I am not sure if it's true. Must not be because you are pulling yours with a polaris 500 sportsman. I wouldn't think the V-fronts are that much heavier???? Do you know how much your fish house weighs? Thanks.
BHofmann
I have a ice castle 6.6/16 without a v front I pull it out with my 400 yamaha. Early ice without a lot of snow. I've had it out on 6-7 inches of ice. The interior doesn't have many extras in it one bunk and one cabinet. I weigh'd it when firt got it on the scale at the fertilizer plant and I want to say it was about 1800#s without gas tanks or bateries.
Eric_Kruger
we just got ours at the end of last year and have not had it weighed.... i do know that it is the tube frame and not the angle iron.... so that should add some weight... we pulled it out last week with the atv after the snow and it was slow but we got to the spot we wanted without getting stuck....EKAnother option for when there is alot of snow is you could fabricate up some ski type things that you could strap your wheels into

Norm1980
my buddy has a v-front 8' x 20' ice castle i belive weighs in around 4,000 lbs. he also has a polaris 700 and i don't think hes ever tried pulling it out with the wheeler. I would think an ice castle thats only 6.5' x 12' in size would most likely weigh in around 1,500 lbs. Most wheelers should be able to pull 1,500 lbs unless your trying to pull it through 6" or more of snow?
sdak130
I have a 2010 6 1/2x14 Ice Castle that is loaded up pretty heavy. It weighs just shy of 3000lbs and I pull it easily with a Polaris Sportsman 600. If there is alot of snow you cant go very well but I have not been stuck with it. cold one sd
I have a 6 1/2'x12' dropdown house and when I weighed it to title it, the scale ticket was 1,520 lbs. I probably have 200 lbs of gear in it. Pretty bare bones with a 30" wide storage box which doubles as a bunk.
