Duffman
1. The 9 - 7 1980 Vikings. I was 8 years old. Rashad's catch and the ensuing insanity in our basement with my dad solidified my love for Vikings football (win or lose.) This was the first NFL game I attended, I was 14, it taught me the greatest lesson in sports, it ain't ever over.....til it's over. It also taught me that moon boots aren't all that warm. DonBo
If we're going all sports here in the Football forum...1.91 Twins2.87 Twins3.79 Minnesota Kicks Soccer....... Never actually made it inside to see the team play but tailgating in the Metropolitan Stadium parking lot became a cultural phenomenon in the late 1970s, with thousands of fans arriving early to socialize and consume beverages. Policemen on horseback soon began to closely patrol the tailgating and game attendance dropped off. Ha ha, I remember that. 30,000 in the parking lot, 10,000 in the stadium. Gotta love it. Well at least we know that according to some it's OK as long as it's "my" team that is doing the cheating. It's unfortunate they didn't win the title that year so they could have had that stripped away as well and made it all that much better. zamboni
They cheated in the classroom, not on the court. You truly are the wettest blanket in Minnesota, surprised you still live here
LMITOUT
They cheated in the classroom, not on the court.....which means they were ineligible to play.Aren't they referred to as "student athletes"? Talk about wet blankets...

zepman
They cheated in the classroom, not on the court. You truly are the wettest blanket in Minnesota, surprised you still live here They cheated and were wrong in doing so. My problem was that they were so dumb in how they did it...99.9% of college hoops teams get "advantages" in the classroom...no need to take more than what is already given. zamboni
I understand what they did was wrong, but 99% of all 19 year old kids if told by their coach they wouldn't have to do their homework and tests would jump at the opportunity. Blame Clem, not the kids. BTW, lets get this thread back on track-
james_walleye
i agree zamboni, and i'll put it back on track, the 1997 gopher hoops team was one of my favorite sports rides ever! The amazing comeback with :20 against Indiana. Riding Bobby Jacksons back in OT against Clemson. The comeback over UCLA to advance to the final 4. Who could forget Miles Tarver dancing during the team interview after cutting the nets down....wait....nevermind, that part i could forget.
