zeke7434
I have an '02 magnum 500 that won't shift. It seems like the gear box is stuck. Anyone ever heard of this? The wheeler is stuck in low range forward and I cannot get it to shift out of this. Any help would be appreciated.
Dave S
2 things I would look at first are idle speed and linkage adjustment.

norm
I'll second what LEP7MM said. If you can shift it with the engine turned off then you have clutch problems or too fast of an idle speed. If it does not shift even with the engine shut off then I would guess you need to adjust the linkage that connects the gear shifter to the transmission. Tyler23
ive had this happen a few times on my sportsman.. what happens to me atleast is when you pull on the level not exactly straight it puts the linkage in a bind.. if you pull the cover off and unbolt the linkage you should be able to get it loose again. then lube the 2 rods the come outa the shifting lever and you should be back in bussiness
