lake master chip

i got an expedition and a lms 334 c igps and i got one lake master chip for both .....heres the problem i got differnt way points on both i went to a seminar about lowance stuff and the guy said that you could save way points on the lake master chip that the chips where only like half full of info ....so i can get all the way points on one unit and by the way the 334 c sucks im buying a humming bird lol

I may be competely wrong but from what I'm aware is that Lakemaster chips are 'read-only' type cards. You can not save or transfer info onto that SD card and you could cause damage to your card. But you can buy a new SD card, they're pretty cheap, and save your way points, trails, etc onto that and then transfer.

I wouldn't try adding or changing anything to you Lakemaster card. If it screws up the info you are SOL.

On my Garmin Oregon with the Lakemaster chip I can add TOPO maps to it, so mine is not a "read-only" sd card.

Ya, that part I wasn't certain at all on. I just always heard don't mess with your chips... thanks for the correction.

As for how to save I can't remember the exact steps off the top of my head. It's been awhile. Lowrance has all their manuals online so you can pull it up easy and find that section. I do remember it was easy to do.
