Need your ideas!

i need some ideas for a "porch", if you will, for the wheelhouse. it sure would be nice to have a place out of the snow and wind to cook,keep the refreshments and all the other [PoorWordUsage] that has to get drug along when we head out to certain festivals on the ice. the best thing i can come up with so far is one of those temporary carports from the big home improvement stores. what do you think

idealy it would be light enough to not be a huge p.i.t.a. and maybe it would hold a little heat in.

My trucks have toppers. Park the truck into the wind, lower the tailgate and have at it.

IMO putting up a carport is OK for a big event on the ice. Putting up a carport is a big event in itself.

If your going to the length and cost of setting up a large carport you might as well just get one of the 8x12' pop up shelters that several manufacturers make. They set up and take down really quick and don't take up much space. Plus its made for the situation so you can use it as much as you want and it will hold up.

Why not pick up a cheaper pop-up shelter, like the Clam Expedition or one of those HT things.

I thought it would be cool to have a flip over house over the door. Get to your spot and flip the canvas down. Put a heater out there and you've got a place for smokers, cooking, bathroom, or whatever else.

Get a big 10 man tent with doors on both sides...they make them so they pop up pretty easy and quick. Probably cheap this time of year. Set it up in front of your shack and there you go.
