optima blue tops

Looking for a new set of batteries for boat and shack. Would like opinions on the optimas. Going for 31 series. Had Odessey but way to over priced. Don't get me wrong good battery, good luck with it, but in these times don't want to spend $650 on two batteries.

I've never personally used them, but I'd have a hard time justifying even the cost of those since the last two "plain old" Stowaway batteries I bought lasted 8 years.

I herd from a guy at the sound shop that the very first optimas were great until they were bought out by some other company, now they have changed their fourmula and they are junk, he said that in the last month he had to refund the two that he sold.

Ive used the optima blue for 5 years on the trolling motor - no problems at all. I would buy another one if I needed to.

I have had one going on 6 years now and it has been relentless. For whatever reason I can't get more than 3 years of anything else. I take pretty good care of them too and so far the bluetop has been the best one.

You guys have one of the orginal ones from before the company was bought out, what ever you do take care of them and dont get rid of them because the new ones out today are junk.
