Question. I'm assuming with the vex you have to pick what cone angle to run with or can you run with both cone angles on. And with the Hummingbird being they are newest on the market can they run with both cone angles on.

The reason I ask I was thinking to myself about my Garmin boat Gps/chartplotter and its duel cone capabillities. With the Garmin I can run both cone at ounce on one screen or at split screen and also have the capabuility to adjust the size of each cone.

I know with a flasher split screen is not possible but being able to use both cones at ounce be benificial for when fishing sharp drop offs or rough bottom terrain.

Right now Im running a single cone, I think its 11 degrees, I would go to a duel cone if I could run both at ounce and maybe switch companies if that company could run both cones at ounce.

I have lx5 and it just takes a push of the button to switch between the two, but not possibly on same "Screen", but I see what you mean it would be cool to get two looks at same time. I really like being able to switch, as it does help in deep or weedy water, or when lots of panfish are down there.

No split screens with flashers. Reasons to switch to a narrower cone angles are.

Reducing the dead zone on steep breaks. How effective that is depends on how steep the break is.

Reducing interference. While the big 3 have either IR or Noise Reduction, two different things btw. There are situations when it is not possible to get rid of clutter with IR or Noise Reduction alone. Switching to Narrow Beam will help in eliminating interference.
