Hey guys, what is this rubber thing called that some wheelhouses have on top and tight sealed.

and how does one install it? Any help/info appreicated! Thanks.

Rubber roof membrane. You can purchase a Menards. You will have to get the glue for it as well. It comes in two different kinds. The sales person can tell you more about it.

We chose to use the latex base. It is a little more forgiving when installing it.

Do it! Nothing better. At Fleet it's about $6.25/linear foot-10 feet wide. Glue is spendy but it's forever. Glue will hold the sides but for more security wrap it under an edge so you have no holes exposed to moisture and you will never ever have a problem.

Used this on my shack with the yellow glue and it's working so great. No leaks and durable. You just roll the glue on with a paint roller and stretch the rubber membrane over it.

Overlap your siding and then cover it with trim or termination bars.

I'm not sure which glue I used, probably the cheaper stuff, but it was a serious pain in the....

For sure a 2, if not 3 person job. I wrapped the rubber over a piece of J trim, glued it, and then screwed a termination bar over the top of that. It should never leak.

yes get the yellow stuff.... I just did it a couple weeks ago. Just get your rubber up on the roof and roll it half way back. roll the glue on and roll that half back on the glue and the take a roller of some sort or a squeegie?? and press out the air bubbles. Then roll the other half back and do that side. Easy as pie. I then put my trim pieces on and cut the remaining overhang off right at the bottom of my trim piece. I used bent diamond plate for the job but it was a hassle finding somewhere to bend it and also a place to get it cheap....you can use any kind of aluminum that is sturdy so it stays straight
