slurpie
I cant believe how many people view ice fishing. I dont think before opener there is 500 people viewing open water.
JohnMickish
And your point is??? Maybe people that ice fish have more time to look at the computer?
jwmiller33
i think more people ice fish then open water fish too. i know a lot of people who only ice fish and dont open water fish. not everyone enjoys being in a boat out on the open water as much as fishing from a portable. ice fishing is just easier for some people, like taking the whole family out in sleepers for ex. also, a lot of people cant afford boats which obviously results them not being as into open water fishing as ice fishing. i never really understand some people ice fishing and not open water fishing but it is the way it is
traveler
I say no way more people ice fish! I think with all the kids out there, occasional cabin owners and visitors who fish, tourists who fish here, etc...not to mention the rest of us, there are a lot more soft water fishermen (and fisherkids, fisherwomen, etc... I thing the first poster has it right....more people sitting inside in the winter, more access to the computer. Can't WAIT for open water! Wish-I-Were-Fishn
I cant believe how many people view ice fishing. I dont think before opener there is 500 people viewing open water. Well, maybe they are trying to stay occupied since ice fishing is like watching grass grow Actually, I'm glad they have something to be excited about over the winter... just not my thing. muskE
Ice fishing offers the chance to get out to spots where shore fishermen can only look at in the warmer months. All you need is some guts, a hand-cranck and half a pole and you're ice fishing. Tourism drops this time of year and you're seeing more "locals" on the ice. Common web statistics show internet utlization is greater in the frost months probably due in part to the difference in available sunlight. Duffman
It's always been that way, for some reason ice fishing draws more attention online than open water. At least in the northern climates it does. The population of those who enjoy icefishing has grown substantualy over the last decade. But that's not the sole reason, guys that can sit for hours and stare at a flasher are probably the same type of guys who can sit and stare at a computer for hours. TonkaBass
its because for $2k you can get an awesome ice fishing setup, but not a top of the line summer setup... everybody know open water dominates!
