Bog Hopping on a Thursday

Needed to fill the feeder and put up a little more meat and thought I would do a little shooting but the good light was gone pretty quick. Ran into Shawn Z. at the Admiral feeder. It was nice to put a face to a name and he was generous enough to put up another rib cage. There is a bunch of Pine Siskins at the Admiral and I did spot one Redpoll. A few pics of the birds.

Nice picturs, you nailed the grosbeak, well done. I was down there last week, but didn't take much for pictures. I added a pile of meat on the ground at your station and added half a ribcage I had left. Its probably gone by now, a swarm of chickadees instantly attacked it.

I was watching the blue jays on Arkola and realised why they can be so shy. I was feeding the gray jays bread and they would fly off with and come back a few seconds later to get more. Through the trees the blue jays could be seen hopping around. I finally realized what they were doing. They would wait for the gray jays to stash their food and then the blue jays would go and take it. I guess the blues have one up on the grays.

Grosbeak is fabulous.

The Blue Jay shot really shows sharpness in the DOF presented,the lens was really locked on-excellent job with the extender!

Jason most of that meat was gone and I added some more. I wonder if that Pine Martin is chowing it down ? Might have to set up the blind one day next week and see what shows up.
