Auger blade sharpening??

Does anyone know if Strikmaster auger blades can be resharpened? I have a 8 inch Strikemaster and I know you can replace them, just wondering if anyone knew of anyone who does this in the twin city area.

If I am not mistaken, as long as your auger puts out "Chips: and not "Snow" you should be good yet. The blades are like surgical steel and keep an edge a long time. If you have a bench belt sander with a fine grit belt you can do some touch up and keep it alive a little longer, but if you redrilled old holes or through sand or even tire tracks it may need some more attention. Remember to keep the factory angle like you would a good chisel and remove any burrs. A carpenter is only as good as his tool, and a ice fisherman is crazy......

Sonnyday- I have that 9 incher also- only Strikemaster that reopens holes. Blades are just too finicky. Best auger ever with new blades, and even some of them don't work well. You did have good luck with that little sharpener? Strikemaster says-don't even try on the 9 incher. You do know there was a time we could have traded them for any blade they make for no charge. Biggest advice for anyone sharpening a lazer type blade is don't mess up the bottom edge, it HAS to be flush.
