Cooter
...to kill a coyote? 15 for me yesterday. 2 that were pretty good shots that should have ended it, one that did, and lots of lead slinging in between. Yote number one for the year anyways.
Jmnhunter
what happened too far of shots? scope off? did you see 15 in one day?!
Cooter
Far plus running plus I'm a terrible shot! At least 2 different yotes, possibly 3 but not likely. Dogs did well on a coyote(s) that didn't mind crossing open fields. Finally bayed one up against a barn and when he bolted it was close enough that even I could hit him. Jmnhunter
oh i see, you were using dogs, i always wondered how that would work being that that yotes seem to be finicky and would run at the 1st sign of a threat; do they actually hold in cover? CaptainBly
We all have those days. Last year a guy I know took more shots than that . Why he admitted to it I don't know. At least you got one, better than none at all.

IceHawk
Cooter- Hows the coyote hunting going out there for you guys? Slow for us only got 6 down so far to much snow early and we couldn't run the dogs alot and not any new stuff as of late. Hopefully we get a fresh dusting soon so we can cut some fresh tracks! Cooter
That was my first time out but they've been killing a few - they don't hunt yotes till the first of the year once bobcat season is over. We need some new snow as well. Makes finding a fresh track tough but some of the guys I hunt with are pretty durn amazing. Lots of tracks in both areas I hunt so a shortage of yotes will not be a problem.
