Lundisnumber1
Hi all,I have not speared in a while but had awesome luck using something non-traditional. My buddy would spear next to me and used the standard decoys and sucker minnows and I kicked his butt everytime. The secret... my dad had bought all of these spoonplugs and a book on how to fish them for huge walleyes. I took a red and white one and removed the hooks and tried jigging it as a decoy. It would swim up like a rapala wiggling with a tight tail action but then it would fall "flashing" side to side and it attracts walleyes and I had a northern come in but missed that was a monster... I would see so many nice northerns ....

Lundisnumber1
I lost my red and white so I painted one of the yellow ones- white seems to attract the most attention. Let me know what happens.
bassNspear
First off, Lund, Welcome to Fishing Minnesota. Glad your part of the family here!as far as the decoys go, i believe that red and white is by far the best decoy color to us in my opinion
