FLOOR FOR QUICKFISH 3

LUTAFISH

Recommended Posts

I have a quickfish 3 hub style portable and I'm making a floor for it. I want the bottom flaps to tuck in so I won't need to bank it in or anchor it down, making it more mobile.I had thought of mounting boat seats to it also.If anyone has done something like this or has any ideas for me your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

I made one just a few inches larger than the footprint of the house and added 3 inch sides to it. I left the corners open just enough for the corner floor straps to attach to the floor using small hooks mounted into the corners of the floor. I made it in two sections so I can fold it in half after the house is off. I also attached two ski's under one section so I can use it as a sled after it is folded together. You just have to add runners under the other half so the floor is level when opened and sitting on the ice. This also makes a nice surface for strapping the house to after its taken down and back in its bag if you need to pull it across the ice. Still small and light enough to handle easily. I carpeted each half of the floor seperately so it could still be folded in half. It sits about 3 inches off the ice and really works nice. The 3 inch sides around the floor help keep the wind and snow from coming under the flaps. Plus, if you wanted to put skis on both halves you could just hook up to the floor with the house still in place and move short distances without taking the house down.
