can propane freeze help

i have a 10#propane tank when i put on my sunflower heater it started fine then it caught on fire and burned my house down now i bought mr heater sunflower heater it light up fine then after 5 minutes or so it starts burning flames threw it it wont stop where i see the propane come threw it spits and sputters this is a brand new tank and heater never had a problem before i want to fish tonight but i dont want another fire or lost fish house could the tank be froze

My friend had a mister heater cooker that did what sounds like a similar thing, his tank had been over filled, I don't know about a tank freezing and causing this sort of problem but when it gets very cold I do know that the liquid can't vaporize fast enough to burn, but that is a different problem. Sounds like the tank is overfilled or you got something blocking in the vents on the sunflower heater itself. It may also do that if the tank is left sitting in a position other than upright. Depending on your location you may also take it to a place like lakes gas in minneapolis and have them inspect it.

that sounds like an overfull tank for sure. take it to one of the many large propane dealers as stated above, they can empty the tank and test it, or just bite the bullet and get a new tank, or try it on someone elses tank, but all in all it's most likely the tank.

thanks for the help i let it run for a while it kept burping and burning then it seems to run fine i think its ok or should i bring it in is the tank ruined now because it was over filled thanks for the help and replies it sure ruined a day of fishing and a house
