Newbie ice fishing question

I'm just getting started in ice fishing, so go easy on me. My wife would like to go ice fishing so am looking to rent a sleeper house for a weekend. One thing I'm wondering about is keeping the fish. Can we clean the fish in the house?

I guess in general, I'm curious how people treat keepers when ice fishing. Even in a portable, when it's temps like it is now, throwing them on the ice will freeze them quickly. Seems like it would take a while to thaw out enough to clean them once you get home.

Todays Tackle has a fish keeper mesh bag. You toss fish in it to swim around while the bag floats in an open hole.

the fish keeper bag sounds cool, weve put them on ice and it is a pain to thaw before cleaning plus they seem to get more slimy.putting them in cooler with ice is good method.

You can only fillet a fish on the ice in prep for a meal(your supposed to eat it right away) and you have to keep the carcus so you can add it to your daily total, I have a battery powered fillet knife, i just let them freeze and fillet em frozen. that battery powered knife cuts em up pretty good, once there fillet'd they thaw fast, just rib em, skin em, cook em.

I keep my fish in a bucket of water or slush. I hate cleaning dead/frozen fish.

I throw the ice shavings from the auger hole in my pail and that is what the fish go into.
