motley man
Have a hook & minnow under bobber in other hole.
slurpie
I've had the same thing a feew times keep the hook moving. The shallower a walleye is the more aggressive and hungrier it is supposed to be, or the saying goes something like that.
Bigeye30"
Shallow eyes can be spooked easily, run a tipup with a large bait (shiners, creek chubs or double minnows on a plain hook) they may not be feeding during the day. This sounds like a perfect scenario to set up early morning or evening and fish into the night. If your fishing during the night leave all the lights off and keep the noise level to a minimal. If your seeing them sightfishing you have the first part of fishing them down. (location) Good Luck
thehawk
IMO keep that second rod loaded and ready to go like the other poster said. I would go full minnow on red hook and leave it in your second hole. I would also have a jiggin spoon with the rattles on the back with a head only ready to go. So a eye comes in and is sniffin around, reel up your panfish rig and throw the spoon w/ head down there. I agree, if they are that shallow, they are hungry and should go well (bite) for you. Good luck...isn't sight fishin the bomb!
Lip_Ripper Guy
Last year we had a pretty good run of walleyes in 3' of water. It was a night with no moon, and they didn't bite until it was totally dark.
jwmiller33
i have done well in the summer fishing for eyes in 5 ft and less. usually a jig/minnow combo. although i have also caught them on shallow shad rapsif you keep drawing them in and cant get them to bite, i would keep switching presentations until you find something that they like.. i'd try a lindy rattlin flyer spoon (glow), or a northland buckshot spoon (also glow), swedish pimple, northland forage minnow, or even a jigging rap or a lindy darterkeep switchin until you find something they likemy best bet would be to have a minnow under a bobber a foot off bottom. sometimes you can draw them in with your jigging line and they will hit your bobber line
jwmiller33
the best thing about site fishing is you can see how the fish react to your presentation, and can switch accordingly
riverrat56
I'd follow Bigeye30's advice, large baits on tip ups after dark as well as being in total darkness in the fish house. Those fish are likely just cruising during the day, waiting for darkness to give them an advantage and start a feeding binge.
