Mr. Heater Problem

Walleye #1

Recommended Posts

I went to take an empty tank off my Little Mr. Heater today while fishing and it wouldn't budge. So I brought it home and let it sit for awhile inside, and the same thing it still won't budge. Has anyone ever had this happen to them before? I know I am turning it the right way, but it just won't budge.

I will let it sit awhile longer and try again.

Any help?

Turn it on its side with the tank point straight up and try to get some or some other lubricant down in there and let sit for a bit then try again should release. Sounds like the O ring is a bit dry preventing it to release.

After you get the cylinder out wipe the O ring with some petroleum jelly this should prevent this in the future.

yep, I had it happen last year on my cooker heater. I ended up breaking the fitting trying to get it off.

Not sure what happened, but I had to go and buy a whole new heater mad

I disconnect my hose every trip now.

Thanks guys!! I sprayed a little WD40 down in there and let it sit. A little careful playing with it, I finally got it to come free. Needless to say I proceeded to read the back of the heater and it says in small little print, when done using you should remove the tank and not let it stay attached. Dtro I will be doing what you are doing at all times now. I suppose like Croix said it drys out and gets to be hard to remove.

Glad that is over with!
