Stupid "Gulp" tricks for the ice fisherman

I have been testing more Gulp products on the ice for the past few seasons now.

For the most part what I have used them for is to enhance baits or to be used to hold more delicate baits on barb-less hooks. The little Gulp Grub buggers do well to hold Salted minnows on, I often use the Red Maggots for this.

Here is a another little trick of mine I'll share with ya.

"Backwater Eddy's Stupid Gulp-Goo Tricks"

Take a little jar of Gulp maggots...Red..Glow..Pink..whatever turns you on..and get some of your favorite jigs and hooks ready and lay them out on a table.

Now microwave the Gulp for...Oh lets say...about 20 to 30 seconds, tell it liquefies, but does not boil.

Be sure to remove or loosen the jar lid and remove any foil on the top of the jar first.

If'n ya don't....ZZZ....POP--ZAP...SPARK....D'OH!!

Now....take the Hot Gulp "Gooo"....and dip your treble hooks or jigs in it to coat them...and hang in the freezer tell they cool and set.

You now have Gulp Coated colored jigs. Works well on plain hooks too guys.

I may also add a few drops of Dr. Juice oil to the jar prior to Nuk'n it...to add a bit more scent and oil base.

You might want to do this when your girlfriend or wife is not around...just to keep the piece.

Nice trick there Eddy! Here is another little trick that works well with tipup fishing. I like to use the berkley walleye scent in the bottle and coat my braided tip up line prior to heading out fishing. Unravel a few feet of the braid, coat the spool with a few drops and roll backup and let it dry. Your line will absorb the scent and slowly release it while the tipup is in the water. This works well with braided dacron but not so well with mono or the coated iceline. I'm gonna have to try your tip sounds like a nice addition to the arsenal!
