ICE?

What do you guys think about the weathers effect on the ice ... will the cooler temps this week harden the slush and water on top of the ice or will the new snow insulate it and make things a mess for a long time?

It's gonna be messy. I wouldn't be surprised to see two separate layers of ice, the original layer on the bottom and a second layer on top of all the snow and slush.

The ice is going to go bad under all the water on top of ice. It will be a couple weeks before it freezes good again. Caution out there is the key. Beware that water is going to soften the ice, the snow is going to weight it down, and it will not support as much.

Out today with the atv and after checking the ice after getting out there...barely... found out he ice had lost around 2 inches, some spots are barely 5" now!!!!

Be careful getting on and off, as I realized the part of coming back is the hardest:(
