bucketmouth64
I had a friend help install a water boss water softener and it is not keeping up with soft water in demand mode. Display shows number of gallons of soft water remaining and it continues to go down to zero without replenishing. I have knob on service. I also realized that I had the lines backwards. The main water line was plugged into the out valve and the pipe coming from water heater was going into intake. Kinda makes me wonder if the original system was done backwards. I went thru the programming to make sure I didn't set anything wrong. Any ideas before I call customer support?
Archerysniper
When you hook up a water softener backwards it causes the media or the part of the system that takes the hardness out to be blown out of the tank, did you notice if the screens in your faucets were getting plugged or your clothes washer with little plastic beads? Your main cold water line sould go to the inlet side and then go out to your cold water main that feeds your heater and the rest of the house you should make sure that any outside faucets come off your cold main before it goes to the softener. bucketmouth64
find out that when the display shows 0 soft water I actually still have 100 gallons in reserve. Booklet doesn't tell you this. So I think I am good. Won't touch it and see what it does.
Redlantern
Another thing many people don't realize is not to lay the softener flat when transporting them. The resin beads sometimes will end up in the softener head and cause problems.
Archerysniper
Also when you first start up your softener you have to put water in the bottom of the salt tank it should tell you that in the book.
