Mine works just fine but every once in a while when I fire it up the chip fails to load. I always watch for the blinking chip icon at the bottom. If it fails I just shut it down and reboot. Works every time, I know you figured out what the problem was, just thought I'd throw it out.

Minnbow, you may not have a problem, you just may not be zoomed in down on a lake sometimes when you turn it on. The Icon will only blink when you are zoomed down enough to one of the loaded lakes on the chip. If not you are not going to see it blink. wink

I know what your saying, mine shows the blinking chip for a bit when I start it up and then whenever the chip memory kicks in, like when you're zooming in. Sometimes it just fails to load at the initial start up.
