frabill recon?

i am lookin at one man flip over style shelters, want to become more portable than my current hub style. does anyone have the frabill recon? i tried to put a kenai in my civic at thorne bros and barely could, and the frabill is a little bit smaller when packed. any advice, i see they are consistently under 200 bucks, anyone know where to get one?

I had one, passed it along late last season...kinda miss it. They are very light, and the model without the new bench seat one can add a pail or a spider chair and sit bak inside the tub and max the front fish-able area and keep your feet off the ice. A very good light hit and run shelter.

The new Frabill Recon DLX has the bench set mounted permanently to the front corner support frame...this keeps you from moving back in the sled to sit as I did with the first generation Recon, so I like that a bit less...but one could "mod it" and move it back to mid point or rig the bench to slide on the side rails...I did this with my Frabill Commando to achieve the same end effect...it works nice.

I got mine at FF last year. I love the thing, with one exception. No door. I got over it pretty quick.

It's a great little shelter. Small so it gets warm fast and is easy to keep warm. It will fit in pretty much any car, even my old jetta. I also took the bench seat off and used a bucket to sit further back. Worked best for me. Add reflectix and LEDs and you have a very nice little one man for about 200 dollars total.

Have you consider a clam scout they are smaller. fleet farm has them still until they sell out. the new style scout has a door now where as the older ones didn't. I do have a used one I would sell you if you are interested($100.00 with the travel cover). just one note thou mine is a fish trap 1 from 1995 the original tent went bad so now it has a new scout tent on it(I didn't get the door model thou)

Love it most functional shelter I have ever owned. Strap it on the back rack of ATV so you can fly!!
