PmDavis300
my handle bar warmers appear to be broken and i want to replace them. can i take them out of the handle bar or do i have to replace the whole handle bar?
Macgyver55
If they are cartridge style they come out. But, there are many other styles available that go on either under the grip or replace the grip itself. There should be no need to replace the bars in any case. mudslinger64
all you have to do is take a hairdryer and warm up the hand grips, slide them off and the warmers are like a foil with the wires inside of them like a big sticker wrapped around the bars.peel them off,put the new ones on then the grips. Jim Almquist
I replaced the grips I have on the 4wheeler with heated ones and I could not believe how easy it was. It will take longer to run the wires then it will be to replace the grips.Do it just like Mudslinger64
PmDavis300
i think they are inside the handle bars, there is no foil under the grips
PmDavis300
apparently they must be cartridge style... how do i get those out? just finagle them with a screw driver till they come out?
Macgyver55
It wont hurt to leave them in if you intend to go to the new styles. But if you want them out, if I remember correctly you just need to push some slack from the heater wires into the bars to allow them to slide out. If they are stubborn, you could drill a small hole in the end and put a screw in to pull them with. I havent seen the cartridge style in a long time but then again it is an older sled. I'd switch to the newer kinds anyway simply because they use less wattage and it will be easier on your lighting coil.
