Which Clam?

Okay, similar to the heater question recently posted, if you had one Clam flip over to use for hard water, which one would it be? Figure two people 75% of time, and I have a wheeler to pull it with assuming there is not too much snow. And, are the new quilted fabrics/insulated worth the extra jing? Thanks!

I talked to a guy that was testing these new thermal houses for a company and said they aren't worth it. He said they are actually too warm and you have to keep turning your heater on and off. They also had a CO tester in there and even with the vents open it was setting off the alarm the whole time. He said the worst thing was all the condensation that built up on the ceiling. He said stay away from them.

If you go to the store and compare houses. Take a look at the Wild 2 man house(Black and Orange). They’re on sale for like $299 at FleetFarm. In my opinion, nothing compares to it quality wise. Great canvas, deep sled, square poles, includes a sweet bench seat, and a travel cover. Other houses have shallow sleds or cheep fold up seats or they are nice but cost $600-$700. Please compare this house to anything out there and see for yourself, this a sweet deal! Fished out of my buddies last night, very comfy!

EyeGuide, I don't know where this information came from, but it's not correct information.

Thermal houses do not get "too warm". If you regulate the heat, you'll be fine. Just like in any other fish house. The thermals actually save you money because you are using less fuel for heating.

I've had a CO tester in many Thermal units and they do not set off the detector. Even with the vents fully closed, fully banked with snow and temps to 100 degrees inside I have yet to see anything register on the CO detector, much less set one off.

The thermal fabric actually REDUCES condensation. Regular fabric turns wet with moisture and drips, thermal absolutely does not drip.

I love my Nanook thermal so far. Stays warm very easily with a buddy heater (even on low), no dripping, the "flapping" in the wind is drastically reduced compared to a normal shelter.

The sled could be deeper, and the seats are a bit small for a bigger person, but they work great for me.

Huh? Well shows what you hear isn't always true I guess. My info came from a pretty reliable source but I'll have to try it before I say anything else. Glad you guys like em. Seems like a good idea until I heard the negatives. Thanks.
