I think I have a new regular visiter to my feeders. This Flicker can't resist my home made suet. Hopefully I can get some better shots before he leaves.

Beautiful shot, I have read they will eat suet but never had any luck with them coming to my feeders.

You are very lucky to have such a neat looking guest hanging around to give you some great photographing opportunities. Sweet looking shot of such a wary bird.

Thanks for comments. He's back this morning again, so I might set up a blind. The shot was taken out of the window and yes, they are very wary. He seems very large and is really awkward on the suet feeder.

I have one coming to my regular feeder. I've been putting peanuts both shelled and unshelled out--that is probably the attraction, but he also seems to be taking black sunnies from the mesh feeder itself.

Thanks micpic for the photo and heads up. That is what I like about this forum. Keep us posted if you set up the blind and catch him unaware.
