Buddy Heater fuel filter

I have a Buddy Heater and was wondering if I need the fuel filter to add a hose and 5-20 pound tank?

My understanding is with the green hose you do not need it, but with a black one you do. Someone please correct me if I am mistaken

Not sure about what hose color? i have a black hose and had a few problems with my heater. I put a filter on and all has been well for the last 3 years. For the few dollars I would buy one!

I always run the filter, why not, it is only $5 or something like that.

I have heard the green hose is not cold weather friendly! A filter is recommended anytime you are using an unregulated (high pressure) hose on either the Buddy or Big Buddy heater.
