Fish House Rentals - Do I need a License to rent houses ?

Do I need a license to rent fish houses ? Unemployed and have 4 - 4X6 & 4X8 fish houses that I thought about rented this winter.

Each house will need a Dark House Rental license.

They may some other regs. I know that rental sleepers require that you have a vented heater/stove. Might be required if not it would still be a good idea to have a CO and fire detector.

If you leave the house on the lake overnight you need a license for the house.

Other than that I can't believe the state regulates fish houses, private lake homes & cabins that rent by the week go unregulated.

The only thing that you need is a Dark House Rental Tag. They are $26.50. You might want to seriously talk with a lawyer and either Incorporate or form an LLC to protect yourself. I would also advise nothing less than a million dollar plus liability insurance policy.

If I was unemployed, I'd be living out of those fish houses. Make sure you think it through before giving up some of your prime time fishing of the season.

I've been unemployed before, and the worst part of it is sitting around the house moping. You might really appreciate using those fish houses at your convenience.
