mnhunter2
I have a Kodiak that has started fine all fall but the last couple of times it won't fire, it's been pretty cold and its has been parked in the fishouse, I choked it and it cranks over just fine but it won't fire. So I have just started the heater and after a couple of hours of being warm it fires right up and it runs fine. The gas has sea foam in it and is the BP collector car gas, any ideas? Dave S
If it starts when it's heated up, I'm guessing it might not be spinning the motor fast enough in the cold. Maybe the battery needs a charge. Change to a lighter viscosity oil for the winter months. I would also check the spark plug to see what condition that's in.Even a 4-stroke will foul a plug once in a while.
gunmunky
My Yamaha does the exact same thing after sitting for a week or more. When it gets fairly cold it sounds like it should start but doesn't. When I hook up the charger it takes right off. Then it will start great all day long. These three factor in the highest if starts are an issue .TD
