Electra Lazer Auger

Anyone use one of these. Have been doing some searches and not a lot of info. I want to get the electric b/c I usually fish out of my car and dont want the gas smell. Also I usually only drill 6-10 holes in an outting. Any thoughts?

Go with the Ice Gator you will get alot more holes drilled and its alot faster as well.

I've heard several people recomend the ice gator as well. The problem is they are more costly than the Strike Master, and don't come with the auger attachment.

Is the Electra a quality product? I mean for the casual ice fisherman who only drills 6-8 holes an outing, it doesn't seem that speed and battery life would be as important as to say the guy who shoots 60-70 holes chasing the schools around.

I do not want an Ice Gator, I asked about the Electra. So does anyone have any experience with the Electra

I bought one last winter and love it. Everyone that went out fishing with me could not belive how well it cut through the ice. So quit and no gas smell. At times I drilled at least 15 holes in 3 feet of ice. It comes with a 12 volt charge cord so if it ever got low I would plug it into the 4 wheeler or sometime I would just put the auger in the cab of the truck to charge it. With the # of holes you stated you drill I think you will also love it.

No complaints here. I've got an 8" and it's great for inside the perm. For the little drilling you do you shouldn't have any problems.

Bought one a few years ago (8-9), Strikemaster electric Lazer 8in. Used it quite a bit drilling holes in the wheeled house. It's worked great and does a decent job opening old holes for a lazer, I think it's because it spins a lot slower than a gas auger. Got it new for $229 with $50 in free tackle. They sure have gone up in price since!

Im a fan you can drill quite a few holes. I bought mine for the ice shack but it makes its way on quite a few other trips
