Just bought my first bear decoy. Norhern 10" red and white. ive read about them and seen videos on them. And just had to buy one for this years season. i opend it up and seen a hole under the mouth and under the tail. just wondering what they are for?

With the holes they swim correctly.

The bear creeks are hollow plastic

The holes allow water to enter the cavity inside the decoy so it will sink.

If it were sealed they would have to weigh them down more and if they ever cracked they would not work as well.
