MgFisherman1984
Bass are biting right now you just need to be a true bass fishermnan and target them, you got to be the guy that wants to be on ESPN2 and catch them in all conditions! right now they are lethargic but if you use a small hair jig and a small trailer you'll get hits but you got to be very patient! And have to be where green weeds are and at the right depth. Can't use live bait....that is cheating! hahaha
TonkaBass
It's getting tougher now that there it ice on al the lakes And the river fish will bite a huge assortment of baits!
GooBack
i red on here that this was supposed to be the best time to fish. i went every day for the last 2 weeks and only got one pike. dont spinners catch bass?
EBass
I slow WAY down and fish a jig on the outside weededge looking for the remaining green coontail weeds. Especailly when the water temps are in the 40's and lower. They may chase, but more than likely you need to put that lure right in their face. That being said ya never know. Last time out we caught two 21"ers, but the time before that was a skunk. It's tough, but can be very rewarding.

river rat316
Fall fishing is weird, I have caught fish in 41 degree water burning a spinnerbait but have had them not want to chase a bait in 48 degree water. The key is wether the water is warming or cooling, that spinnerbait bite in 41 degree water was when the water was warming up, it was cold for like 3 weeks, then we had a 3 day warm spell and the water warmed a couple degrees. If I was to be fishing open water right now, I would be fishing a hairjig as slow as I could fish it.
mozy
I was completely skunked all fall. I went out at least once a week and couldn't tell you how long it's been since I caught a fish, probably late October and even then it was a tough bite. This was my first year fishing this late as I usually quit in Sept. when bowhunting starts. All the talk about how great fall fishing was had me pumped, but I didn't have that kind of luck. Tried crankbaits, jigs, and shakey head.
Nick Kuhn
My last attempt was the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It wasn't bad temperature-wise but fishing-wise it was terrible. Had lots of fish marked right where I expected them, but they wouldn't hit anything.
TonkaBass
keep in mind this wasn't a normal fall at all... All the sudden one morning we woke up and it was here! I remember the surface temp on the bigger lakes dropped 20 degrees within a couple days, and that's what I remembered as the beginning of the end... mozy
Well it definitely won't keep me from trying in future, I was just a little disappointed because of all the anticipation I had built up.
ShoreGuy1984
Went out today for a few hours, from shore. There was this stupid stuff covering the water, that kept getting in the way of my jig, so I didnt have any luck.
mainbutter
Yeah that white colored weed that grows all over the lakes this time of year sucks. I can't wait until it dies off.
