magicstix
Even though the advertised wieght is 2-3 lbs difference, they feel like more 5lbs or so when handling them. The Nils is also easier to drill with, less torque on arms/hands. Like others have stated the cost margin now days is getting closer on the augers and replacement blades. IMO the real beauty is the Tanaka motor. I can't say enough good things about the motor, unlike my bad expirences with the old Tecumseh motors. I have not had a lick of trouble with the Tanaka and that puts a smile on my face.Yes one can find deals on used augers too..theres nothing wrong with a chipper blade. silverbulletguy
I would like to check out the Nils in person. Who has them in the central MN area? I'm mainly looking at them for the hand auger cuz I don't think I can swing the $$ this year. Any input on them?
fishwacker1
I bought a 6" Nils hand auger three years ago and are convinced that once you get the two arm drill down, you will question dragging your gas out until 1.5 foot plus of ice. Esox_Magnum
Honetsly I used mine today as a hand auger, next week the power head goes back on. I think without the center point it would be better but it's still the easiest 8" hand auger I have ever tried.
silverbulletguy
Anyone know where I could get one without ordering it? St Cloud area?
dudewheresmyboat
Silverbullet, no one carries them locally. I've been wanting one since that day Borch let me test drive his on Horseshoe! Its fast, it seems no one has mentioned that, its light, and its quick. I ordered a Nils from the "big C" last week. 3-5weeks, I can't wait!!!
