So being a bit of a "roof runner" I will stop and pick up the ocasional agate and I put them in my daughters fish tank. Most people dont notice that all the rocks in the tank are agates, but it is a fun thing to do for the two of us. Chasing rocks has become a bit of a hobby we can do together.

Anyways.....

Her fish died. So I pulled the rocks out, ran them thew the dishwasher, dried them and for whatever reason I put them in a wool sock. Last week I saw her rolling it around on the floor because it "sounds funny". Diddnt think much of it untill I brought a couple more home and figured I best find a new location for the others.

They went from this...(original condition)

How do I bring them back to "normal", not all chalky and horible looking? I dont own a tombler, and like to just keep them they way I found them. Is there like a jewlers rag or something I can rub them down with?

Help!?!?!?!?

No, they are all skuffed up and chiped from rubbing together. crazy I have run them in the dishwasher before w/o issue, and they were good when they came out this time.

My concern w/mineral oil is I plan to put them back in the fishtank in the future. Not sure if that is a go or not with oil. Live and learn I guess. They dont look to bad when wet, just when dry. Just frustrating.
