otter windows

I was at GM and saw that otter has stopped putting removable windows in their houses, does anybody know why this was done, i really like the idea of having removable windows and i am not sure why they discontinued it does anybody know why

I think the reason companies went to removable windows, in my opinion, is because they kept cracking in cold weather. With the new window materials used now you dont have that problem.

I believe the Otter Wilderness Series may still have removable windows.

You're probably right about that. Unfortunately for me, though, I like the removable windows for more than just replacement. I like to use them to control ventilation when people smoke in the shack and for spitting seeds out the windows, talking to people outside the shack, also sometimes a lot easier to look out of when the windows are really frosted up. If price wasn't a factor, I'd still go with a removable window system over the permanantly installed. Unfortunately for me price is a factor, so the shelter that I bought the other day (6 man hub)has the permanent windows. Maybe I'll replace a couple of them with some homemade replaceable ones.

I have had Otters for years ( best portable made) as far as my 2 cents goes! they had a year or 2 with problems, but now there back on track and I have 2 with this style of window. Best feature they ever had! You can't go wrong and there customer service is 2nd to none!!

Why didn't you go with the the Eskimo 6 man hub? They have removable windows and you can pick them up at Fleet Farm on sale this week - cheepest price I've ever seen a 6 man hub.

The Otter tubs are the best and will outlast any tubs on the market!

Agreed bassislife. Those Otter tubs are one very tough tub.

Thanks for the heads up. I took the Cabela's back (same price) and picked up one of the Eskimos.
