rangerforme
Has anyone gone a guided or unguided hunt up in Ontario? Looks like most the hunts are about 1/2 price of western canada, just wonder if the deer herd is smaller or why so much cheaper?

Outfitter17
The Northwest ontario Hunts are about 1/2 price campared to the ones out west. There are guided and unguided zones in Northwest ontatio, here are the guided zones where US citizens need a guide: 9B, 10, 11A and part of 7B and 12B.If you have any questions about what to look for, just let me know. FYI, we offer a an american plan guided hunt, but we do offer unguided hunts as well.
youngie22
there may not be the numbers of deer you would see in SE MN, but they definetly get big. your highest numbers are probably between minaki and dryden, once you start heading further east towards nipigon #'s will go down, but not to say you can't find a gagger! uptracker
This year was way down up there too. Bad winters and a ton of wolves.....coupled with over hunting is draining some of the areas. I've been going up for 5 years and may not go back next year. Way too many guys have shot young bucks the past two years due to not seeing much for racks. It just gets pounded up there.I asked the owner of the cabins "Is this the end of an era?" He didn't seem to happy and shook his head "maybe".
