iPOD touch

does anyone know how my daughter can download movies from dvd's to her 8gb ipod touch. she wants movies that she has at home already.thanks for your help scott

The first thing you will need is a DVD de-coder. Then a program that will take that and turn it into a format your IPOD will recognize. There are one or two free options out there, they are not particularly user friendly.

There are a number of paid options out there, expect to pay in the $20 to $40 range for them. Some will rip faster than others, with many expect the program to take as many minutes as the movie is to rip. I happen to like 1 Click DVD to IPOD which is an all-in-one solution, it rips and burns.

I usually burn them at slow times and store them on a second internal drive. When I want to load a movie on my IPOD it is a matter of grabbing one from my files and syncing my IPOD up.

If you aren't tech savvy, it might be better just to buy them out of iTunes.

That's why I like the I-Touch. The Wi-Fi capability is sweet.

I agree with CJH. It's not super-easy to convert to Ipod format, at least in my experience.

It's very easy with the correct software. I have almost my entire DVD collection in the IPOD format.
