The first thing you will need is a DVD de-coder. Then a program that will take that and turn it into a format your IPOD will recognize. There are one or two free options out there, they are not particularly user friendly.

There are a number of paid options out there, expect to pay in the $20 to $40 range for them. Some will rip faster than others, with many expect the program to take as many minutes as the movie is to rip. I happen to like 1 Click DVD to IPOD which is an all-in-one solution, it rips and burns.

I usually burn them at slow times and store them on a second internal drive. When I want to load a movie on my IPOD it is a matter of grabbing one from my files and syncing my IPOD up.
