bucketmouth64
My friend told me this morning that her parents found a dead deer on Suuday that was shot(not sure if bow/gun) in their backyard in Blaine. They live sorta on the outskirts of the city in wooded area. She thinks the deer was shot illegally because there is no hunting nearby where they live. Couple questions: 1. Should they call CO and tell them what they found and can they claim the deer? 2. What happens to a deer you shoot in a legal hunting area and it runs off and dies in someones back yard? TruthWalleyes
In Mankato, there is a special Bow Hunt that only a certain few qualify for. Is there a similar program for blaine? In mankato though, if a hunter shoots a deer and the deer continues to run across town, the hunter should inform the police so they can help track the deer through peoples yards etc...also very possible it was a legal out of town shot, or an illegal intown/out of town shot. Your questions:1) Probably true, they could keep the deer if they wanted after calling the co. 2) It will likely lays there until someone stumbles across it...and the co deals with it on a case by case basis. IMO.
IceHawk
The local Co should be able to help them out.
