Working on Flying (action) shots

Went out to the local bird santuary, well actually it was a river bottom in town so shooting was not allowed.

I tried to work on some action shots, but I have a tendency to have my shutter speed too low. Not to mention these were all from a distance and shot with my 300 they are cropped pretty good. Out of 250 some odd shots, I managed to get a few that are decent. They were all shot free hand cause I forgot my tripod.
