Rippinlip
Been wheelin to a few spots in Minnesota/Wisconsin over the last 2 years, looking for any recommended rides for either a day or more. If it is going to be an over nighter or longer we need some kind of accomadations, we like tenting, but we have no problem doing the motel thing either.Places we have been so we do not double up are Snake creek in Southern MN, Gandy and Nemadji and around the Moose lake areas in MN, been around the Clark/Jackson county and up by Ashland as far as Wisconsin riding, any other must rides? Ryan_V
I like the spider lake trail north of brainerd. And I heard they've since filled in the water hole that swallowed my wheeler when it was brand new!!! That was quite an expensive trip!! Dave S
The Red Dot and Moosewalk trails by Silver Bay are supposed to be a great ride. Better during the peak of the fall colors, but still some very scenic overlooks. If you've been to Snake Creek, did you happen to ride Trout Valley also? Dave S
If you liked Snake Creek, you like Trout Valley. Be careful on the one scenic overlook at Trout Valley. There was a trail that went within a few feet of a steep drop down to HWY 61. It could be an ugly extraction for rider or machine if one were to go over the edge. While in the area, the SE MN Trail might be worth checking out also. You end up doubling back on the same trail, but has some neat features to it as well.
Dave S
Hi this is Rips wife and no we didn't, but we are hoping to ride that trail next summer. Excuse me for being rude for not saying this earlier, "Welcome to FM". Glad to see more ladies on the trails.
