Your Bi-pod Choice

Recommended Posts

I'm getting my 22-250 set up and the bipod is one of the last things i need and I think i know what everyone will say, but just wondering if there is a cheaper yet quality substitute.

If everythign goes right, I could get the Harris 25S 12-25" pod for $100 at scheels (price match); but if you guys had good luck with a different brand, let me know!

I use shooting sticks, and have considered going to a monopod, just so I can swing and move the gun with less motion....I was thinking about the trigger grip ones that go from 28"-60 inches. when I sit, I am higher than the 30" that is the maximum for the shorter version of that trigger grip mono pod, but I am shooting a 20" bull barrel AR15 in 223 so there is not a lot of muzzle jump

I like pods for times with no or little snow and sticks for snow.

Mine are perfect for sitting or laying , but when We get snow they don't hit bottom.

I got some $40 sticks that are adjustable. Perfect for me as sometimes i have 2in or 2 feet of snow under me. The sticks allow me to have a fairly decent swing area, but my pods don't swivel and I need to move to get them on the coyote if he isn't coming in right.

Mono pods are not for me. I am the caller and that requires two hands and with sticks I can prop my gun up and not have to hang on to it all the time as with the pods. Plus I don't think they are as stable.
