Just wondering if anyone hunting in this part of the state has been seeing any deer movement during the day? Heading down there this weekend and am just wondering how the movement has been and if there are still people spoting bucks during shooting hours? I am hunting just north of Red Wing.

Another question for those who may know. Can someone who hunts the A season down there also hunt the B season.

Just wondering as i seen the neighbor guy gun hunting down there last weekend and am wondering if i will see him this weekend as the B season starts.

I have a place up north (princeton)and a place down in Red Wing to hunt and my true feelings are if and when i do get a big one it will be down south. Nice deer in that area. Only problem is i do not live there.

Good luck and thanks for any replies.

The rut has slowed, more deer movement at dawn and dusk. Not so much during the day in open fields. Much of the corn is out now and that will help you. On Saturday I did manage to shoot a nice doe that had a buck hot on her trail. That was at 10:40 in the morning, so there was still some chasing going on.

As for 3A and 3B, he cannot hunt both, the most he could do is hunt the last weekend of 3B with a valid ML license. He should not be in the area hunting deer the first 7 days of 3B.

the rut is hot!........NOT!

went from seeing 10-20 deer a day to 0-2 a day

just got in from one of my best stands and didn't see a single deer...first time this year for that! took the long scenic route through some of the best hunting grounds in SE MN on the way home and didn't see a single deer.

there is ALOT of corn left out there...some massive corn fields that i bet are just stacked with deer...i think they are content just living in the corn right now...they are probably still a bit gun shy lol.

Bummer, I hope to have a little better luck on seeing deer anyway. Guru are you on public land or private?

Sounds like some warm temps again for tommorow and Saturday.

The wind does not look good for my favorite stand for tommorow evening. Hard to resist your favorite stand when the wind is not right but at least there are other options.

You going out again for an evening hunt? If so good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the replies.

i hunt on private land...i have a few different parcels i hunt..some primo areas.

i think i'm just gonna wait until the corn is down by some of my spots then start hunting hard again...still got to break out the muzzleloader yet...still sittin on my tags.

good news is alot of nice deer got to hide out in them cornfields this season plus it was warm so they didn't want to move...that means theres some really nice bucks left out there for the people willing to stick it out!!

Had good activity Saturday with the does. Went to a spot were i had seen a nice buck a few weeks ago and figured i would sit on the ground there for a few hours.

Had a doe and her fawn come to within 5 yards of me. Moma gave me the look and a few stomps of her foot and walked on as if nothing was wrong. For a guy who never sits on the ground this was cool. About an half hour later i have three more does in the area and sure enough i hear a buck grunting. He comes in and chases off the does and begins following them. At about 30-35 yards he gives me a decent shot i take it and miss.

Clean miss thank god. Not going to try giving any excuses other than i missed and i was not to happy. But i did learn alot about this spot and will be setting up there for future hunts.

My opinion is there is good deer movement going on yet and for some reason the does still have fawns with them and the only buck i seen was chasing them. Do you guys think alot of does just have not came into heat yet?
