What is a quick-strike rig?

a quick strike rig is like the one in the picture above. a couple trebles some beads and a blade. a quick strike rig allows you to set the hook sooner so you minimize the chance of gut hooking the fish.

you can make em or buy em. if you are using them in MN make sure they have a blade. the blade makes its a "lure" which makes it legal.

In MN 1 treble alone is illegal since its not a lure. You need to make sure to have a bead and blade.

When fishing larger minnows I always use Quick strike rigs. I very rarely miss a fish. You set the hook as soon as you realize the fish is still there. No waiting and guessing on when to set the hook.

Some argue that you get smaller fish vs bigger fish. Personally I've taken some really decent pike on quick strike rigs. I've also taken multiple bass over 4lbs on them.
