keyks42

Question

has any body used these chargers?

should you spend extra on the 20amp?

how long does it take to charge the batteries?

If you wouldn't buy these what brand would you recomend

I have a crystal pierz 1 bank charger that finally quit on me and would like to go with a 2 bank charger

Any help would be great

I would recommend the Dual Pro sportsman series they cost more than the others but you get more for the cost.

I got mine through Profishingsupply witch I highly recommend check the web sight out to get desciptions of models and pricing. He also caries Guest chargers and Minn Kota chargers. He also has reconditioned Dual Pro so you can save on cost.

I have the ProSport 2 20 and it has worked with no problems for me. Times I have got back late and hooked up the charger at midnight the batteries have been charged by 6am the next morning. Not sure when during that time they got to full charge though.

The nice part of the pro sport chargers from Cabela's is that all of the current is fully distributed, which means if one battery only needs 6 amps and the other could use the rest it'll send the 14 amps to the other battery.

I know that my new 3 bank is still only 20 amps so it might take a little longer to recharge the TM Batteries, but the starting battery shouldn't need as much with a bigger motor on the back of the boat.

No kidding, that is crummy. Sorry to hear you are having problems.

Out of curiosity, does your charger get a lot of use? I am asking because mine gets a little use, but it definitely doesn't get a lot of use and I am wondering if they don't hold up to extensive use as well as they should.

Used quite abit. We logged 41 trips so far this year. I do have to drive at least 40 miles to get to a fishable lake. I even mounted the second one in the rear of boat to limit the bouncing effect. There is a reason some chargers cost twice as much. I just have a hard time convincing my self a battery charger for a boat is worth $300.
