cjac
Hey,I have several of those jars of Gulp! minnows, leeches and the crawlers too. Does that liquid stuff freeze up, or can I store it in the boat, which is in a unheated shed all winter. Last thing I want is that to freeze, crack, and leave an awful smelly mess. Thanks! IL Res
I didn't take that chance last year either and stored mine in the basement. I don't think that the liquid freezes though as I was using GULP! maggots during the ice fishing season and the stuff never froze.
pushbutton
have to agree, not worth taking the chance. would worry more about the packaging cracking especially where the grooves meet up between the cap and jar, than the gunk freezing. regardless where you store it make sure the lid is tight...made that mistake last year. walleyeseeker
Gulp Alive is freeze thaw stable. You can let it freeze and nothing will happen. This is staight from the Pure Fishing rep.
mainbutter
anything will freeze if you get it cold enough, and I know from experience that some of those ridiculously cold days in mn can freeze malt liquor. If it can freeze that, it might very well freeze that gulp stuff which I doubt has a lower freezing temp than something with 8-10% alcohol content. half-dutch
Just make sure you store it with all the jars and buckets upright. The stuff even if it does not actively leak will some times seep through the seal. That means it will eventually dry out too and become worthless; so just taking some ziplocks and putting a container in each will also extend its shelf life. My question is if the gravy can be thinned, and if so with what.
Pat K
I wouldn't store it in the boat because anything that smells like food or resembles food will atract mice! I used to store boats and the old gulp caused a mouse problem once and the Gulp Alive is much stronger smelling.

wbliceman
i would bring it inside the house and store it in the basement. plus you can use the minnow baits in the winter too.
cjac
Thanks guys, I played it safe and brought it all inside. Took enough work getting the boat smelling good after a fall of sturgeon fishing with crawlers and muskies with suckers. Definitely try some out this winter as well......Thanks again!
