hunting with handgun

Recommended Posts

Where can i find information on taking small game with a handgun? I would like to use a 9mm for taking small game (squirrel, coyote, rabbit, etc...). What are the legal laws in regards to doing this in Mn and South Dakota?

I do not have my CCW permit, but will be completing the course this winter.

Picks....I'm not sure on handgun hunting in So Dak and I don't have the reg handy. I know you can use em for any game but, there is a foot pound of energy restriction for big game. I'll fetch one tomorrow and check and let ya know. I do know that Minn does not re-cip with us on CCW but, I'll check to see if WE recip with you guys.

In MN you can hunt small game with your handgun, as long as it is not conceled you do not need a permit to carry it in the woods.

I am not sure about using it on fox/coyotes though, maybe durring daylight hours, but I beleave after dark it is shotgun only....
